If you find yourself unable to provide enough evidence to prove you can pay your rent—maybe you’re a student, new to a job, or just starting out—you might be asked to provide a guarantor. A guarantor is someone, often a family member or close friend, who steps in to guarantee that your rent will be covered if you’re unable to pay.
